So it's been a while!
First and foremost... Michael Jackson is no longer with us =( It's been about 2 weeks now but It's still super sad. I have a way of separating the professional from the individual person so MJ is not a weirdo who was accused of sleeping with children or hanging his own over a balcony. MJ to me is pure genius. The most amazing performer and artist along side the Beatles that ever lived. My generation is not the Jackson 5 or Thriller generation but if you know good music you can not deny how RIDICULOUSLY genuis he was. And good for me, I know great music and have been a Michael Jackson fan for a while and always will be. I'm not fanatical about him, but I am truly sad about the whole situation and think it was a really crappy way to go out. He is in the book of world records for supporting the most charities by a pop star. Whether you like him or not, you can not deny his out of control talent and love for humanity. RIP MJ... this P.Y.T will jam to your prodigious music forever.
Speaking of celeb gossip, Oprah doesn't take part in the Make a Wish Foundation. While working at MD Anderson, we have several patients who wished to meet her, but she doesn't participate because she has her own foundation and tends to those children only. I love Oprah, but that's a bunch of crap and I don't care who you are, you should never deny a child who has a life threatening illness. Enough said.
Well, I found my place in Hawaii!!! It's super cute. Or as Rose's mom likes to say "Swanky" =)
I leave in less than a month and am super stoked about it. I have had lots to do a bazillion phone calls to make/faxes/emails to do but it's all coming together. I went through a slight "what the hell am I doing" phase, especially with mine and Coy's relationship and the possibilities (good and bad) that may occur, but I think I'm good now and have to trust that this was the best decsion for me. It is an opporunity that I may not ever be able to expereince, and I can only hope that this will enhance my outlook on life and myself as an individual, give me the tools that are neccessary in my career and that distance makes the heart grow fonder. It will be difficult to be so far from my family and everything I know. But it's Hawaii, and a time to be completely independent...this can be nothing but good for me. I trust God and know he will be with me...
